Agro-Forestry

UCFA provides technical expertise through its agro-foresters, establishes coffee-agroforestry nurseries, offers trainings, and ensures the sustainability of its cooperatives’ operations while supporting the production of coffee and tree seedlings for its members. Both farmers and cooperatives play active roles in tree planting and agroforestry. The farmers plant and maintain the trees while the cooperative coordinates agroforestry training and provision of trees from  nurseries. These farmers appreciate the benefits of agroforestry which maximize biological interactions of their ecosystems. Therefore, our farming system emphasizes biodiversity conservation and tree planting.
